Kikinda

The days of the 12th and 13th of October 2013 entailed a new research field within the project Creative Cultural Heritage. The event researched was 'The Festival of the Pumpkin'. The activities of the festival were organized in the town of Kikinda, Serbia and they were widely publicized. Our team – PhD Associate Professor Ion Imbrescu, PhD. Assistant Professor Nicoleta Mușat and PhD. Candidate Andreea Lisița – observed the ways in which the local community related to this event. However, the research aimed the folk costume parade of the participant ethnic groups.

Sibiu

Between the 1st to the 4th of October 2013, a team of researchers of the project Cultural Creative Heritage has participated, in Sibiu, at the National Conference of the Ethnological Sciences Association from Romania (ASER), on the subject of the Development Strategies and Policies of Museums in Romania. The conference was included in the activities of The Days of the Astra Museum. The researchers who presented the project Creative Cultural Hertiage were: PhD Professor Otilia Hedeşan, PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Musat, PhD. Corina Popa, PhD. Candidate Monica Vlad, PhD. Candidate Diana Mihuţ, PhD. Candidate Andreea Lisita and Raluca Selejan.

Mihaljovo

Between the 27th to 29th of September, 2013, PhD Professor Otilia Hedeşan, PhD. Corina Popa and PhD. Candidate Diana Mihuţ were on the field of research. The purpose of this field was 'The Festival of the Autumn Customs' in the village of Mihaljovo, municipality of Zrenjanin, Serbia. This festival was an event considered by the people involved as a manifestation of the tradition of a multi-ethnic community. There were made audio, video and photographic recordings. Autobiographical narratives of some local people were recorded.

Oraviţa

In July 2013, PhD Professor Otilia Hedeşan, PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Mușat, PhD Assistant Professor Miljana Uscatu and Raluca Selejan went to Oravița, Caraș Severin county. Here, our team presented the project Creative Cultural Heritage and interacted with community members. Oraviţa is a prominent cultural and historical space of Banat because of its famous theater, a monument included on the list of the protected cultural heritage of Romania.

Gărâna

Four of the members of CH project team, PhD Associate Professor Smaranda Vultur and PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Muşat, Diana Mihuț and Raluca Selejan, revisited Gărâna between the 18th and the 21st of June 2013 in order to continue the field research initiated in this community. They recorded more interviews and autobiographic narratives, focusing on the possibilities of promoting the rural turism, on the identities of the families and on the stories connected to the objects.

Caransebeş

On the 24th of April 2013, at the County Museum of Ethnography of the Boarder Regiment of Caransebeș (Muzeul Județean de Etnografie și al Regimentului de Graniță Caransebeș), three researchers of the CH team – PhD Professor Otilia Hedeșan, PhD Assistant Professor Miljana Uscatu and Diana Mihuț – presented to a group of students and young residents of the town the forum of the project and the initiatives for the recording and preserving of the cultural heritage in the regions involved in the project.

Valea Almăjului

The carnival called "Făşanc" in the communities form Almăjului Valley is a constant theme of research for the project members of the Creative Cultural Heritage. The organization of this carnival, before the Easter fast of 2013, was a good opportunity for a research. Between the 15th to the 18th of March, PhD Professor Otilia Hedeşan, PhD Professor Ion Imbrescu, PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Musat, PhD. Candidate Andreea Lișița and Raluca Selejan observed the communities from Almăjului Valley organizing and performing the "Făşanc".

Becicherec kirweih

Between 3rd and 4th of November 2012, one week before the Saint Martin (Martin de Tours) holiday, PhD Associate Professor Smaranda Vultur and PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Muşat studied Kerwei in Becicherec. This is a very important holiday of the German community from Banat. Therefore, the researchers recorded interviews with the organizers of the event and they filmed the preparations for the Saint Martin holiday, as well as its performance.

Gărâna

Between the 12th and the 14th of October 2012, the CH project team – PhD Professor Otilia Hedeșan, PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Mușat, Corina Popa, Diana Mihuț, Raluca Selejan, Andreea Lișiță și Eliana Popeți – made a participant observation research of the Kirchweih organized in Gărâna, in Caraș Severin county. The researchers documented the preparations and the performance of the whole event. In addition to the observations connected to the Kirchweih itself, the members of the team recorded interviews and autobiographical narratives in order to determine the importance of this holiday for the community and to document the transformations that occured in its structure and meaning during the time.

Between the 11th and the 14th of May 2012, PhD Associate Professor Smaranda Vultur, PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Muşat, Diana Mihuț, Raluca Selejan, Andreea Lișiță went to Gărâna, in Caraș Severin county, where they documented the oral history of the village. The main subjects of the research were the village mill and the miller`s family. The people themselves focused on the stories connected to these subjects in their autobiographical narratives.

Ciclova Română

One of the very first visits on the researched field of the Cultural Creative Heritage project was made on April 2012 at Ciclova Română, village from Caraș Severin County. PhD Professor Otilia Hedeșan, PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Muşat, Corina Popa and Raluca Selejan observed here an ancient practice connected to the Easter holiday, Luminiștile. People of the village lit small fires in the honour of the deads of their family. They declared that they performed this ritual "waiting for the deads souls to come home".

Rudaria Făşanc

In March 2012, PhD Professor Otilia Hedeşan, PhD Associate Professor Ion Imbrescu, PhD Assistant Professor Nicoleta Musat and PhD Corina Popa attended the carnival called 'Lunea Cornilor' in Eftimie Murgu/Rudăria. The research was focused on the implication of the community in the carnival. The members of the team interviewed several people on the subject of the carnival and its importance for the local community.
